I admit that the idea of forming people from a lump of clay and breathing life into them is not new. Someone already started this with Adam and Eve, and as we all know, it didn’t go very well. In the meantime, however, the unequal couple has become an icon of our cultural history in combination with the snake and the apple. The people I sculpt from clay are mostly icons of our time. They interest me because most people can immediately associate an image with their names. With my own view of them and their peculiarities, I reshape them out of clay once again and, of course, breathe life into them. You don’t even know what’s going on in my studio. The result is a wide-ranging family of weird guys. Who are happy to meet you.
