oliver rossdeutscher

Oliver Rossdeutscher has done it. Successful photo designer with his own studio in Hamburg, his book “No Rites” , in which he portrays the inner circle of the techno scene. And then he sells the entire household and moves to the Caribbean. Following in Gauguin’s footsteps, Rossdeutscher, a photo designer, discovers painting. But above all – he discovers himself. In the boundless silence at the other end of the world, he suddenly hears noises. The brute hum and buzz of big city traffic, the shouts of passers-by, the honking of cars, the thunder of trains. Oliver Rossdeutscher needs the big city, the hustle and bustle, the hustle and bustle of the metropolis. He knows it now. And he returns. At the turn of the millennium he is back. He becomes a wild poet of the city. City as an idea, as a testimony to greatness. He commutes between New York and Hamburg. He brings his love of painting home with him from the Caribbean and combines it with the professionalism of a photographer. The images that emerge now: dizzying roller coaster rides between euphoria and fear. The former student at the University of Applied Sciences for Design develops a style that is entirely his own. He processes the photos taken in an excessive search for motifs on his laptop to create futuristic collages, which he then has applied to aluminum plates.
